In the contemporary Western world, the presence of sex and sexuality is everywhere. It permeates everything such that it is impossible not to fixate on it, specifically areas which are deemed to be desirable. Erogenous zones are areas which possess a sexual quality, and are thusly charged. In pornography, they are presented with allure, and the intention to get one off, so to speak. In truth, these are simply areas of the body which we have assigned weight. In comparing these zones to the reproductive parts of flora, links are made concerning intent. If areas are presented as they actually appear, they suddenly lose their charge. The floral representations, toned and showcased with the intention to emphasize beauty, instead become erotic in their own ways. Beauty, linked to sex, extends past the physical and into the visual, superseding what should be considered more attractive and focusing on how the other garners these feelings.
